Therapeutic Approach
My therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing on the strengths of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Existential Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy.
CBT
helps identify and challenge negative thought patterns, fostering practical strategies for improving mood and behavior.
Existential Therapy
explores deeper questions of meaning, freedom, and personal responsibility, encouraging clients to find purpose and navigate life's challenges with authenticity.
Psychodynamic Therapy
delves into the unconscious, exploring past experiences and unresolved emotions to gain insight into current behavior and relationships.

EMDR
A psychotherapy technique primarily used to help individuals process and heal from trauma and distressing memories. This intervention seeks to help the brain reprocess and integrate traumatic memories in a healthier way, reduce their emotional charge and facilitate healing. EMDR has been widely used to treat conditions like PTSD, anxiety, and depression.
Levels I & II Gottman Couples Method
A research-based approach to improving relationships, developed by psychologists John and Julie Schwartz Gottman. It focuses on enhancing communication, emotional connection, and conflict resolution between partners. The method is grounded in over four decades of research on what makes relationships successful.
Faith & Therapy
I know Catholics and other Christians can be apprehensive about counseling services at times, wondering whether such an experience aligns with their worldview and values. For those desiring faith to be part of their therapy, I am happy to integrate it without sacrificing evidence-based practices. I've found that Scripture and the insights of various saints and spiritual writers are a tremendous asset in the therapeutic process for clients desiring it.
