The desire to bring hope to others and accompany them through life’s hardships initially led me to seminary, where I discerned a call to the Catholic priesthood. Conversing with nursing home residents, praying with death row inmates, and sharing meals with parishioner families are some of the many experiences that taught me the significance of meeting people where they are, listening attentively, and speaking with intentionality. Those four years of formation were providential in preparing me to be a husband, father, and counselor. After earning my Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy from Marian University, and discerning not to pursue ordination, I earned a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Valparaiso University. My graduate training provided opportunities for me to work in an outpatient addiction center, an inpatient psychiatric unit of a hospital, and private practice. As far as personal interests, I enjoy reading, listening to podcasts, traveling, watching sports, and quality time with friends and family.
